Railroad crossing accidents happen everyday across this country. Many go
unnoticed because we have come to recognize these tragedies as part of our daily lives.
What we are here to say is that we can stop it from happening. We are here today to
correct the situation at hand, people dying for no reason. We understand accidents do
happen, but these can all be prevented with the proper education and warning devices.
Those two subjects are what this coalition are based on completing. We are looking to
educate the uneducated and modernize the unsafe railroad crossings to stop the death toll.
How to help...
Write a letter to your local representative or
senator on both a state or federal level.
Create a grassroots organization in your town/city
to make the area citizens aware of the dangers involved with grade
crossings.
Write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper.
Report dangerous crossings and malfunctioning safety
equipment as well as overgrown trees and branches at crossings.
