Established in March of 1998 by Scott C. Gauvin after he successfully
closed the railroad crossing
where his friend Eric Ivie (19) was killed in September of 1996. Scott has
dedicated himself to this
coalition and this cause.
After closing the road where Eric was killed I was once again determined
to never let such a preventable
tragedy happen to another innocent family. I knew I had an experience that
could be shared among others
who have lost someone close and couldn't understand why.
As well as trying to prevent such accidents in those communities that have
recently experienced a railroad
crossing accident or death. I truly believe that with work, determination,
and a safe mind together we can
make a day when this coalition is no longer needed.
Through this homepage I hope to be able to educate you the public about
the dangers associated with
railroad crossings and also gain information about railroad crossing
accidents, fatalities or "near misses" in
your community. With your help and cooperation we can put this issue to
bed forever. |
